New Beginnings

Ok so for todays post, I didn't know what to call the title. This will be a very short blog post, as my kids are waiting on me right now to take them to the swimming pool. But I just felt the need to post what happened t me on Saturday morning at around 6 am.

So I woke up in a panic not able to breathe, I have asthma and I had been without my meds for a few days, Opal went and picked them up the night before, so I was awakened and not able to breathe, so I frantically looked for my Advair and my inhaler, once I found it, I took me meds and was getting ready to go back to bed, when all of a sudden(and it was already light out), the entire house was filled with a golden hue as the fullness of the sun made its way above the mountains, it was awesome to see! It doesn't happen all the time but I have seen it before, the golden sunrise like that, California has those like that from time to time.

Just in that moment I dropped to my knees in worship and gave praise to God for the day, for His love, and for letting me see such a wonderful sight!

Life Is Short

So I am driving down the freeway yesterday, on the 215/15 split, on the motorcycle and I was also splitting traffic. About fifty yards ahead of me there was another motorcycle, and he too, was splitting traffic. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a blue Saturn hit the guy on the motorcycle, he went high side, which is what happens when the bike instead of laying down and sliding, it pretty much catapults you into the air. You never want to have to go high side, you would prefer to lay it down and slide with the bike so you have some semblance of protection.

Well he flew off the bike, and since the laws of physics demand it, the bike will follow the same trajectory as you do, and that's what happened, and when he hit the ground, the bike landed on top of him. Thankfully he wasn't seriously injured and he walked away. But since yesterday that is all I can think about. I guess you could say I pretty much got spooked, and if I had a car to drive, I would have made my 130 mile round trip commute in a car, instead of a bike.

Now to bring this back to scripture, I was sitting somewhere quiet at work, and pulled out my phone and turned on my Bible app, and I was last reading a scripture from Psalms from a sermon at church, and decided to keep on reading into the next chapter of Psalms 39 and then stopped at verse 5 in the Amplified version, it says, "Behold, You have made my days as [short as] handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing in Your sight. Truly every man at his best is merely a breath! Selah [pause, and think calmly of that]!"

And I did, sit for a while, pause, and think calmly of just that.

Worry, Sorrow, and Faith

Not too long ago I was driving home from church, and saw another church sign that read"Worry looks around, sorry looks back, and faith looks up". Interestingly enough with my short term memory I memorized it.

Now here I am without going into too much detail, looking around, and looking back, shoulda coulda woulda but I didn't, then God reminded me, how many times are you gonna repent before you look to me? You are in a good spot right now Clay because now only I can deliver you from this, you can't do it yourself. You have to rely on Me, and after all didn't you ask for more faith?

So next time you find yourself in a bed of regret, shame, and overall just a bad situation remember the steps of the righteous are directed by the Lord, and if you should fall, He is there to pick you back up again, for you are not utterly cast down.

New Directions

Ok so without adding a separate URL, I decided to take my blog in a new direction and not only post just my prayer life, which quite honestly has been lacking lately, but as well as things that are happening in my family life as well. I plan on using this as a way to keep every body up to date and provide insight to those living far away from me and do not have or want facebook accounts. Look for more blog posts in the near future, as well as more spiritual insights as God provides them to me as I now have the capability to update this blog from my phone now as well.
